Farrell Lines To Continue Its Service to the U.S. Military Under Renewed Contract

Farrell Lines will continue to support U.S. troops and government organizations under the Universal Services Contract-7 (USC-7) awarded by the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM).

USC-7 is the primary contract vehicle by which USTRANSCOM procures global U.S. flag ocean transportation and intermodal services for military and government cargo. Farrell Lines is a subsidiary of Maersk Line Limited, which was also among the awardees. Together, the two companies provide a wide range of end-to-end transportation services to the U.S. government.

"We look forward to supporting USTRANSCOM with first-rate transportation services under USC-7," said Kevin Farrell, Director of Farrell Lines. "We have a solid partnership, and we're pleased to continue to build on that foundation."

The three-year contract consists of a base and two options years, and it begins on September 1, 2012, the day after the current USC-6 contract expires. The company's U.S. Flag Transportation Services arm will execute the USC-7 contract with a focus on service excellence, in-transit visibility and reliability.

Farrell Line's U.S. flag fleet consists of four roll-on/roll-off vessels, all of which are enrolled in the Maritime Security Program (MSP) and Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA). Farrell Lines operates with the support of its key service providers, Höegh Autoliners and its U.S. affiliate, Alliance Navigation.
